Episode 578 Frank Bello is a First Class Father and Bassist for Anthrax. Anthrax is a legendary NYC Trash Metal band which has sold more than 10 million albums. Born into a family of five, Frank grew up in difficult circumstances. His father abandoned his wife and children, and Frank’s mother moved heaven and earth to keep them fed and educated. Left with no male role model, Frank found inspiration in heavy metal bass players, following their example and forging a career with Anthrax from his early teens―first as a roadie, and then as the group’s bass player. Frank tells his story in his new memoir “Fathers, Brothers, and Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, and Anthrax”. In this Episode, Frank shares his Fatherhood journey which includes a 15 year old son. He discusses his life growing up without a Father in the home and the impact that has had on him as a Father now. He describes the horrific murder of his brother Anthony which took place at the height of his career.
